First shift at the yard

It's your first week at a busy shipyard. A new hull block is on the slab, and the welders have just finished the seams along its side.

Your lead hands you a flashlight, a weld gauge and today's acceptance rule, and points you down the line. Every seam gets a visual inspection before anything else happens to it. Take your time to learn the yard; when you're ready, the line starts moving.
